- Renovation of old Dairy Barn into Upscale Event Venue
- Historic Renovation
- Self-Perform Carpentry
- Inspiring Space
- Happy Customers
Originally designed in 1927 by K-State architecture students, The Brownstone operated as a dairy barn for decades. The current owners wanted to turn the barn into a grand, modern event and conference venue. After working through ideas, risks, construction and budget issues, we jumped in to partner on the project.
Working very closely with the owners, historic architectural features were retained while the barn was transformed into a modern upscale venue. Separate 2-story additions to the historical structure were added, and the old basement was renovated into modern office and conference spaces.
The building is now a premier event venue in Topeka; just try to book an event and you will find out quickly it is popular, beyond anyone’s expectations. The project required very close and detailed collaboration throughout. We worked closely with the owner, as plans changed frequently and new details were discovered and incorporated. This allowed us to deliver a beautiful, turnkey project, in the most efficient manner possible.
