The Circulation Plaza and Learning Center project was a renovation of the main circulation areas of the Topeka Library, approximately 15,000 sq.ft. The project included extensive interior demolition, installation of new Terrazzo flooring, high-end ceilings and clouds, and considerable amounts of millwork, including new large circular front reception areas. The purpose of the project was to improve circulation within the library, and to modernize, refresh, lighten, and open up existing spaces and sight lines.
This was a traditional bid-out project, and we made the lowest price offer. This project is unique in that it was not only an occupied facility, but one that remained completely open to the general public throughout construction.
Planning and coordination between Senne, the Library, and the design team was an absolute necessity to keep the Library open while the entire circulation areas were under construction. We are accustomed to working closely with clients to keep their construction projects seamless with their business purpose.
